A building survey (RICS Level 3) is more in-depth and covers all accessible parts of the structure in detail. Building surveys are recommended for older, larger or unusual properties — anything that might have hidden defects you need to know about before buying. As a general guide, homebuyer reports typically start from around £400–£600, and Level 3 building surveys from around £600–£900 for a typical residential property in the Crowborough area.
